L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Face Mask

I thought I would do a quick  review of the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask as this range has featured quite heavily in my social media feed over the last few months. I actually received this as part of a Christmas skincare hamper but because I travel so much and haven't really been home, I only got around to trying it out last week.

There are three masks available in the Pure Clay range and each of them contain 3 pure clays + 1 specialised ingredient (red algae, eucalyptus or charcoal).

What masks are available in this range?
Glow mask: brightens + exfoliates.
Purity mask: purifies + mattifies.
Detox mask: detoxifies + clarfies,

What are the benefits of using a clay mask on your skin?
Kaolin + Charcoal (2 of the ingredients in the Detox Mask) are mineral rich and work together to gently absorb impurities to balance and purify your skin.
The clay gently exfoliates and your skin should feel purer and clearer and more luminous after use.

How do you apply it and does it work?
The product comes in a glass jar with a screw top and plastic seal over the clay itself. I would suggest keeping it and not discarding it, otherwise the clay might leak from the jar. It's quite messy and I would recommend applying a thin layer with a flat foundation brush to minimise mess. I left this on for 10-15 mins and washed the product off with warm water.

Would you recommend this product?
If you're looking for a nice budget friendly mask to add to your weekly skincare routine I think this would make a good addition. It didn't have any groundbreaking results for me but my skin did feel nice, refreshed and more luminous after using this.
3.5/5

The L'Oreal Clay Mask range retails at £7.99 and is currently on offer for £5.29 in Superdrug.

Have you tired any of the masks from this range?

Rimmel 9 in 1 BB Cream

It terms of BB Cream, Garnier is my go to brand when I want a nice sheer, breathable coverage. However, I have just finished the last of it and instead of repurchasing it for the fourth time I wanted to try something new. I have just gone back to work and the air-con/ central heating is wreaking havoc on my skin! Anything too heavy just leaves my skin looking dull and caked so BB Cream is definitely the best thing for a light even coverage. I swatched a few different BB Creams from Maybelline and L'Oréal in Boots and the Rimmel 9 in 1 BB Cream just felt like the most moisturising one with the best coverage.

Rimmel 9 in 1 is quite thick in texture in comparison to other BB Creams which is something that I like as it gives a better lasting coverage. The finish is Semi- Matte which is exactly what I want need for daytime; I like to pair it with the No.7 Instant Radiance Cream Highlight and the Maybelline Eraser Concealer to give a dewy and glowy look.

It claims to: prime, moisturise, minimize pores, conceal, cover, smooth, mattify, brighten and help protect. I definitely didn't pick this up as a multi-purpose product and if I did I would have to say that it doesn't tick all nine boxes. I needed to use separate products to prime, highlight and conceal  as this product doesn't do that, It is moisturising, has a medium coverage, feels lightweight on the skin and has an SPF of 25 which is all that I look for in a BB Cream so it is a thumbs up for me!

If you have any BB Cream recommendations please let me know below!

L'Oréal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation

Although the L'Oréal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation launched a few weeks ago, I only decided to get it last week. I tend to stay away from anything marketed as being "matte" as I have quite dry/dehydrated skin and these formulas tend to cling to dry patches and flaky areas. Not only that but I prefer a more dewy natural finish when it comes to my foundation and prefer being able to see skin and freckles without masking everything up.

Recently, I've seen MUA Desi Perkins use and praise this foundation in a few of her YouTube videos and was intrigued by the flawless and lightweight finish it gave. L'Oréal is not a brand that I would usually gravitate towards but after seeing it in action I thought I would give it a go. It was on offer in Superdrug when I bought it, around the €10.50 mark, and usually retails for €13.99.

I applied this with a Beauty Blender soaked in my Mac Fix+ Dupe, which you can read about here, and blended evenly it over my face. I patted excess foundation onto the areas that needed extra coverage such as my nose and chin. I find that the Infallible 24H Matte Foundation gives a really flawless, full coverage without looking heavy and cakey. It also feels lightweight and breathable on the skin which is an extra bonus especially in Summer. If you suffer from dry, flaky patches it's really important to moisturise properly and apply a hydrating spray like Mac Fix+ before your foundation so that it doesn't cling to these areas.

This foundation has vastly become a must-have for me and I will definitely be trying more L'Oréal products soon.
If you have any recommendations please list them below!

Woman Crush Wednesday #3 : Kim Kardashian West

Kim K sure knows how to rock a two piece Co Ordinate! I love how all of the different textures work together and compliment each other; the knitted two piece styled with the snakeskin effect shoes & bag. I have found some affordable pieces online to recreate this look; including the lip product that she wore on her wedding day(as told by her makeup artist). This look is very clean (no jewellery) and so the snakeskin really stands out and doesn't look OTT, cheap or tacky. I think it's also nice to step away from the black, burgundy and grey every once in a while in winter too!
